Questions:(for JCCA) Why did the other 3 candidates not attend?, Amending the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Time Management and attending Boy Scouts ceremonies, Closing Comments
Thank you JCCA for hosting this debate and focusing the conversation on the important issues facing the City.
Discussing the issues was clearly Not important or a priority for Jay Lin, Todd Burkhalter or Nazeera Dawood as they chose Not to attend.
Could the following be why?
Thank you for posting the videos from the "debate". I see two candidates that are ready to contribute to the betterment of Johns Creek from day 1.
Johns Creek is actually fortunate to have two candidates that are this qualified for the responsibilities of the position.
I think I can now understand why the other candidates found it in their own best interest to skip this event.
With Coughlin and Endres on the Council, the quality of leadership in Johns Creek will rise substantially.
Intelligent, professional, and knowledgeable representation is what we need. Both Coughlin and Endres demonstrated those attributes quite clearly in these videos.
Locke, I agree with your assessment of the candidates and their qualifications. This is partly why it was maddening to look at the poll results from the 1st election where Jay Lin received 44% of the vote.
Chris Coughlin (as well as Ms. Enderes) has demonstrated a clear understanding of the demands on the City of Johns Creek, yet the money flowing behind Mr. Lin's campaign nearly got him elected in the first go-round. I sincerely hope that enough educated voters make their way to the polls to ensure their voices are heard over the money-coffer-candidates.
Following this election process has been quite an eye-opening experience. Chris Coughlin with his clear positions, open-accessibility, and acute awareness of the issues facing the city SHOULD be the runaway victor for Post 2. I sure hope that voter apathy is overcome and the BEST choice for Johns Creek is made.
The fact that Nazeera did NOT show up at the debate, reinforces what her husbands says. She is a puppet and cannot sit down and answer questions.
Exit now. This is an embarrassment to Johns Creek.
Nazeera if you truly care about our wonderful City, you will stop campaigning.
Can someone explain all these homeowner alert mailers I am getting from Nazeera Dawood?
Nazeera lives in an apartment and is stating a 17 year homeowner wants lots of billboards??
Does not make sense.
Nazeera has MOVED to 3 RENTAL homes including an APARTMENT in a span of just 8 months this year. And this is someone who is going to fight for *homeowners'* rights?
Someone like Nazeera who has been living a transient life, has no business putting out FALSE attack ads against a an HONEST, DECENT and PRO-FAMILY homeowner who's well-rooted in the community and has a real stake in what happens to our neighborhoods.
As a MATTER OF FACT, it is Team Nazeera that had advertised a fundraiser/music concert being performed on behalf of her campaign on BILLBOARDS at VARIOUS LOCATIONS in Johns Creek.
Nazeera fan and supporter/campaign contributor/Fulton County Health Dept. "bogus advertisements" contractor **won't name him** was responsible for running that and many other "media" ads.

What a lying woman, Dawood is. She is such a hypocrite. Shame on all the people who buy into these lies , and shame on those who help her manufacture these lies.
Hope I don't get called racist for calling it the way I see it, since her campaign seems to to be enjoying playing the race card, which most people I come across think is going to terribly backfire!
Welcome to the Johns Creek Candidate Forum!
Ms. Dawood…, or should I call you Dr. Dawood? Oh, okay, I’ll use your preferred name of Nazeera and this way the Dr controversy in the US won't even come up. Funny how that works. Thanks so much for being on time tonight.
Nazeera, why are you running for Johns Creek City Council? “Well, when I was a child in India….. and then I got my masters degree…. and I’m a collaboration expert”.
Nazeera, would you ever support the use of eminent domain by the city? “Well, when I was a child in India….. and then I got my masters degree…. and I’m a collaboration expert”.
Nazeera, would you support using non-binding referendums with important city issues? “Well, when I was a child in India….. and then I got my masters degree…. and I’m a collaboration expert”.
Nazeera, at this time please state your closing remarks: “Well, when I was a child in India….. and then I got my masters degree…. and I’m a collaboration expert”.
Welcome to the Johns Creek Candidate Forum!
Mr. Lin, thank you for coming. The Johns Creek voters gathered in the audience are happy that you decided to join us tonight.
Mr. Lin, since 2002, you have owned a business that is described on its website as “a full service design/build contractor specializing in both commercial and residential construction, commercial and residential remodeling, new construction, rehab, and commercial buildout”. Can you assure voters that your business will not influence your zoning or development decisions on the City Council? “Yes. I have lived a different kind of life…. I am a fiscal conservative… I want to bring the voter’s voice to the city”.
Mr. Lin, your campaign contributor list is quite extensive. Up to now, you have collected the most amount of money of any candidate. Can you assure the voters of Johns Creek that you are not beholden to the special interests of your campaign contributors, say for example, with a very pro-business bias? “Yes. I have lived a different kind of life…. I am a fiscal conservative… I want to bring the voter’s voice to the city”.
Mr. Lin, going back to your campaign contributor list, some voters have noticed a definite trend among the donor list names. Furthermore, 74% of your donors live outside of Johns Creek. Some of your campaign promotion materials are written in Korean. Once again, can you assure the voters of Johns Creek that you are not beholden to the special interests of your campaign contributors? “Yes. I have lived a different kind of life…. I am a fiscal conservative… I want to bring the voter’s voice to the city”.
Mr. Lin, your fundraiser event in September invited an impressive who’s who list of politicians mostly from the I-85 corridor. Can you explain your association with these politicians and are they somehow related to your professional business dealings? “Yes. I have lived a different kind of life…. I am a fiscal conservative… I want to bring the voter’s voice to the city”.
Mr. Lin, at this time please state your closing remarks. “Yes. I have lived a different kind of life…. I am a fiscal conservative… I want to bring the voter’s voice to the city”.
