2 More Billboards Coming! The horizon in Johns Creek continues to be filled with Billboards.
Another Massive Billboard (similar to the picture) is being erected on McGinnis Ferry Rd.
The land is within Tech Park, which has strict CC&R's, that protected landowners and business with high standards regarding architecture, design and such. It is shocking that this construction was allowed.
The intersection of Medlock Bridge Rd & State Bridge Rd may have Billboard in the future.
An application was submitted for Fairway Package (China Winery) Shopping Center. It is expected to be 80 Feet Tall and 48 Feet Wide.
The remaining potential locations narrow down to the list according to City Hall:
Time for us to vote with our dollars and feet and boycott some businesses.
Boycotting won't do anything...these billboards attract the eyes and money of all those that drive down our roads...We are stuck with these eyesores. Thanks Mayor!
While I appreciate your overall sentiments, Suzi, the problem is a legacy issue from the incompetent buffoons at Fulton Co.
The best way to remedy this is to NEVER shop at advertisers on these boards, and NEVER ship at shopping centers hosting htem---and DEMAND a vote on Milton County---NOW!
I agree
Boycott the businesses where the signs are located. Then the property owner can choose between sign profits or rental profits.
Agreed, it's the people that allow the billboards to be put up that should feel the pain. Be nice if we knew who actually owns the property the signs were put up on.
Even a 10% drop in sales would be significant. They may not notice my absence, but they would notice the absence of hundreds of us.
So if this IS important to you, start now.

Billboards serve the public & help them find
businesses. If it weren't good for business there wouldn't
be any billboards.
Here again a "few" think they know best for all.
Hocky trot. In this day and age of media magic billboards really don't result in noticeable increase in business. People no longer depend on this form of advertising. Billboards do little more than spoil the view.
They have had only two profitable years since 2008. They are taking losses and accumulated more than $5.1 billion in debt.
Then again, if Clear Channel knew what they were doing they would be earning money rather than losing it hand over fist.
I know, whenever I'm looking for a good restaurant, or a good lawyer, first thing I do is get in my car and drive around looking at the billboards. Works every time.
Jerry, One question. Would you mind having one of these nice, big billboards near your house?
I WILL NOT patronize ANY business that advertises on the billboards or hosts its installation. They can count my business---GONE!
And something else---
Am I wrong, or did State Bridge and south Johns Creek take the brunt on these visual eyesore piles of garbage? Oh yea.....the mayor---self appointed chief and exclusive negotiator lives in the north end...Right?
The real problem seems to be the size . The billboards that are being erected are meant to be the size fit for interstate highways. For internal roads such McGinness Ferry, they should have downsized them to fit the road size and traffic pattern so that they would have been esthetic. Yes, they are looking pretty ugly now , no doubt. Is there anything that we can do now to change the way they look? Any suggestions ?
Corrupt Bodker and his cronies(Broadbent and Davenport) on the city council must be recalled asap.
The scuzzball, Todd Burkhalter must be fired from the planning commission immediately.

Mr. Kim of Fairway liquors is owner and the one receiving rent for this monster sign. According to application he may not even live close by so he has nothing to lose...only rent to gain. So go figure it out!!
If people stop buying things from his business, I'd say quite a bit. Who owns the one pictured above on McGinnis?
PLEASE STOP IN AND LET MR. KIM AT SENTRY CLEANERS / FAIRWAY LIQUORS AND LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE DONE SHOPPING THERE UNTIL IT COMES DOWN! I DID AND BROUGHT THEM TO TEARS....
Boycott whatever businesses that advertise and let them know it.
Does anyone know how much revenue these billboards generate for the property owners who allow them to be placed on their property? I'm afraid it could more than offset the lost revenue of a widespread boycott. In other words, Mr. Kim (and others like him) could effectively now be in the real estate/advertising business, as opposed to the liquor store (etc.) business.
