They concluded, "Human coronaviruses can remain infectious on inanimate surfaces at room temperature for up to 9 days."

This is what distinguishes COV-19 when comparing to the regular flu which remains on surfaces for 48 hours.

At room temperature, the coronaviruses can remain infectious on inanimate surfaces for up to 9 days.

The major concern and why this is a pandemic is the high viral loads and the potential for persons infected with and transmits the virus while asymptomatic.
