According to a new study published by the New England Journal of Medicine, this virus is considered a super spreader. The Journal of Hospital Infection also published research on the persistence of the infection on inanimate surfaces. They concluded, "Human coronaviruses can remain infectious on inanimate surfaces at room temperature for up to 9 days."

The major concern and why this is a pandemic is the high viral loads and the potential for persons infected with and transmits the virus while asymptomatic.
The virus can remain viable and infectious in the air and on surfaces for days.

Marsha it all blows me away how careless people are and that preps go this slowly. I live in FL. In my area it loks white on map yet hundreds actually die of ? Influenca ?. No tests. Nope no tests. I am 77, home, fever, cough. I stay because no one out there will help. Doc says call health department. HD was nice , ask many Q, name, yes you are a risk case. Sorry no tests. Go to doc get resp panel to exclude everything else. Doc has no time. So I am home take aspirin, herbs, sleep, drink water. It is UNBELIEVABLE that there is no more action. We have MILLIONS of seniors in FL. No one cares. Stay well. Stay inside.
