After no one showing up at her daughter’s 16th birthday party, a mother is asking people to send birthday cards to this girl with autism to cheer her up.
For most of us, each birthday is the special day in the year, when we feel exceptional, loved, valued, and appreciated, and we tend to spend it with the people we love the most.
However, the “sweet 16” birthday is even more special, you must agree!
At least in the United States, it is seen as a big turning point in life. Therefore, can you imagine how would you feel if you end up completely alone on this day? Can you sense the pain after planning a party, and no one coming to it?
Well, this happened to a girl with special needs, Kristina Bryan, shortly called Tina. As her mother explained, Tina turned 16 on September 18th, but even though they organized her party, no one from her school showed up.
This deeply hurt Tina, from Rustburg, Virginia, and she has been deeply depressed since. Considering that she already feels different from the others, this hasn’t helped at all.
She said:
“She feels like it is because she has special needs and she’s different than everybody, so ever since then she has gone into a big depression.”
The girl has been extremely excited about the birthday party, as she has spent most of the previous year in hospital, due to her seizures.
Therefore, her concerned mother, Angel Neighbors, thought of a way to cheer Tina up and asks people to send her birthday cards. In this way, she believes Tina will know that there are people out there who care about her.
Why don’t you send Tina a birthday card yourself?
The girl loves Barbies, so if you find one Barbie-themed, she will be more than delighted!
Anyone out there who would love to help this young girl and show her how special, important, and unique she really is, should send the card to the following address:
Kristina Bryan
2904 Bethany Road
Rustburg, Va. 24588
Let us all make sure Tina is the luckiest 16-year-old girl in town!
