According to multiple sources, GA GOP Chairman David Shafer sent out an email congratulating Trey Kelly for winning the 'electronic' election for Fulton County GOP Chairman over Susan Opraseuth in a third vote. The race where the initial vote was held in April has been marred with controversy and allegations of corruption.

The final result was 175 - 150 in favor of Trey Kelly with 4 delegates abstaining.

The “electronic” format for the election was the result of an amendment vote by the GA GOP State Committee introduced by Alex Johnson, GRA President, DeKalb resident, and delegated advocate for candidate Susan Opraseuth. The candidates agreed on a list of 329 delegates for voting credentials, and 325 of those delegates cast votes in this final election.
