Jameson Rodgers- Grew Up In The Country Tour – Georgia Theatre
Raised in Batesville, Mississippi, singer-songwriter Jameson Rodgers brings together electrified rock & roll and Country songwriting on his new self-titled EP, released in January of 2018, with songs featured on Spotify’s New Boots and Wild Country playlists as well as Sirius XM’s On The Horizon. In 2018, Rodgers also received the AIMP Nashville Rising Artist-Writer of the Year nomination for the third annual AIMP (Association of Independent Music Publishers) Nashville Awards. The former college baseball player, who landed a publishing deal with Combustion Music in 2014, scored his first songwriting cuts with Florida Georgia Lines “Wish You Were On It” and “Talk You Out Of It” in addition to co-writing Chris Lane’s new single “I Don’t Know About You.” His debut EP, released in 2016, features the streaming hit “Midnight Daydream.” In addition to opening shows for Sam Hunt and Old Dominion, Rodgers has been selling out clubs throughout the south and Midwest this year. He will join Luke Combs Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour, kicking off in January. Read more at JamesonRodgers.com.

Evening With Stephen Marley Acoustic Soul – Georgia Theatre
Tickets for the show originally scheduled for April 8th will be honored on the new date.
The second son of Bob and Rita Marley, eight time Grammy winning musician and producer Stephen was born on April 20, 1972; he began his career as a precocious six-year old singing, dancing and playing percussion with his siblings in the group The Melody Makers whose first single “Children Playing in The Streets” was produced by their father in 1979 and released on Tuff Gong, the label founded by Bob in the late 60s. While still a teenager he assisted in the production of The Melody Makers’ albums including their three Best Reggae Album Grammy winners “Conscious Party” (Virgin Records, 1989) “One Bright Day” (Virgin Records, 1990) and “Fallen Is Babylon” (Elektra Entertainment, 1998).
In 1993 Ziggy and Stephen founded Ghetto Youths International as a means of controlling their own music and helping upcoming artists. Stephen’s earliest solo production efforts for Ghetto Youths International includes his late grandmother’s (Cedella Booker) album “My Altar”, followed in 1995 by the Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers single “Works To Do” and younger brother Damian’s “10,000 Chariots”. In 1996 Damian released his debut album “Mr. Marley”, on the Ghetto Youths imprint, on which Stephen played several instruments and wrote most of the songs, as well as producing the album.
The first project that brought Stephen’s production capabilities widespread attention was “Chant Down Babylon”, where he audaciously manipulated his father’s original vocal outtakes from the 1970s Island Records’ sessions, splicing them into duets with hip-hop and R&B artists, while updating the Wailers’ richly textured one-drop rhythms with an assortment of samples, loops and overdubs. “Chant Down Babylon” achieved its objective of bringing Bob’s music to a new generation of fans, earned a Grammy nomination, was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America and has sold more than one million copies worldwide.
Stephen’s hip-hop infused dancehall beats were far more fluid and complex on Damian’s 2001 album “Half Way Tree” (Ghetto Youths/Motown), demonstrating Stephen’s equal dexterity in creating rugged roots reggae rhythms, which supported the well-crafted, substantial lyrics and Damian’s vocal flow. “Half Way Tree” yielded several hits in Jamaica, and internationally, including “More Justice” and “It Was Written” (featuring Capleton) and won the 2002 Grammy for Best Reggae album.
Stephen produced and contributed vocals to Damian’s single “Welcome to Jamrock”, the biggest reggae song of 2005 and still very popular today. Released in September 2005, “Welcome To Jamrock” (Tuff Gong/Ghetto Youths/Universal Republic) entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at No. 7, a record setting opening week for a reggae artist; it was certified Gold and won the 2006 Reggae Album Grammy while the single was honored for the Best Alternative Hip Hop performance, another first for a Jamaican artist.
The success of “Welcome to Jamrock” increased the anticipation surrounding the release of Stephen’s first solo effort- “Mind Control” –which won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2007. In 2008, Marley released a refreshing version of the hit album with an acoustic version that gained the artist another Grammy for Best Reggae Album.
In 2011 Stephen released his third solo album- “The Revelation, Pt.1: The Root of Life” that reconfirmed Stephen’s expansive capabilities as an affecting vocalist, a versatile lyricist and an accomplished instrumentalist while furthering his renown as an ingenious producer.
Stephen continued to showcase his talent for navigating between genres by effortlessly blending reggae with soul, hip hop and electronic beats on his fourth solo album; “Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life,” released in 2016. A robust reflection of his work, the album features songs with notable artists including; Rakim, Dead Prez, Wyclef Jean, Black Thought, Shaggy, Pitbull, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and more.
For the past two years, Stephen and his team worked on the development production and promotion of the annual Kaya Fest. Now in its third year, the Kaya Fest is a music and awareness festival intended to educate the public on the many benefits of Cannabis. In 2019 the festival will expand with showcases in both Florida and Southern California.

Ryan Hurd with special guest Adam Doleac- Georgia Theatre
“To my friends in GA, I am so sorry to tell you all that I am rescheduling my shows next weekend in Atlanta & Athens. Maren and I are getting very close to this baby’s arrival and it has become very obvious that home is where this bus needs to stay. We are moving Athens to October 23 and are still so excited to be there. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. If there’s ever a reason to move a show, this is it. Love to each one of you and I’ll see you soon on RSVP and Platonic Tour.”
-Ryan Hurd
*Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new show date.*
One listen to “Michigan For The Winter” is about all it takes to get a handle on Ryan Hurd and his unique approach to country. It’s set in the Midwest, instead of country’s stereotypical South. It’s a song about personal retreat and reflection, instead of the usual big summer party tune. Hurd loaded the lyrics with cinematic, scene-setting images and delivers it with a grainy vulnerability, longing to rekindle a broken relationship but perfectly capable of moving forward alone. And with that song, the world gets to know Hurd, a Nashville-based singer/songwriter whose brand of country is just a sliver outside the norms of Music Row.
A rough-cut romantic, he’s simultaneously amiable and distant, respectful and edgy, commanding and supportive. There’s a lot of complexity wrapped up in Hurd, who’s balanced his budding Sony Music Nashville recording career with a songwriting portfolio that includes hits by Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Lady Antebellum. Hurd didn’t necessarily set out on that path – getting his name on theater marquees was not his original intent – but by following his inner voice, he’s become a Next Big Thing contender, lauded by the likes of Rolling Stone Country, Pandora, VEVO, CMT and Esquire while making the rounds of some of music’s iconic showrooms: The Troubadour in Los Angeles, the Bowery Ballroom in New York City and The Exit/In in Nashville, just for starters. “I kind of have already done everything in country music, and I’m still a brand new artist,” he says with a profound appreciation. “I’ve written hit songs, I’ve been to all the awards shows with Maren Morris, and I’ve gotten to tour with Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line. It’s sort of like I’ve already experienced what it means to be an artist in Nashville.”
“I’m a go big or go home type guy, I don’t know how to stop in the middle.”
Adam Doleac, dubbed “the hero country needs” by Popdust, has staked his claim as one to watch in Nashville. Recently No. 1 on Sirius XM’s Hot 30 Countdown with his single Famous – a successful follow-up to previous release Whiskey’s Fine reaching No. 3 on the countdown. Doleac’s music was described by Rolling Stone as “anchored not only in the trends of Top 40 radio, but also the blue-collar grit of Bob Seger and the bluesy influence of his Mississippi hometown.” Doleac made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018 and has been captivating audiences nationwide while touring with some of the biggest names in the genre including Kane Brown, Chris Young, and Carrie Underwood to name a few. Rolling Stone praised that Doleac is “better suited to the stadium than the saloon.” All of this success caught the eye of Sony Music Group which lead to Doleac being signed to the prestigious label in October of 2019.
However, if you’d asked a young Adam Doleac what he was going to do with his life, odds are high he would have said anything but ‘musician’. “I was the kid that played all the sports,” he says of his childhood in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. His talent for baseball earned him a scholarship at the University of Southern Mississippi; an offer that would serendipitously bring him into the musical fold.
“In college, my roommates all played guitar,” says Doleac, “So anytime they left the house I’d pick up one of them and start teaching myself.” Despite being untrained, he took naturally to the instrument. “I wrote about five songs with my baseball teammates… then I went and booked three shows around my hometown. Turns out a lot of people turned up. So I got the bug.” Adam recorded one of those songs in a YouTube video that rapidly accrued millions of views. It attracted the attention of the former head of Sony ATV. “He had me come into his office… I played him a couple of songs. He emailed Kenny Chesney the song. Five minutes later Kenny said ‘I wanna cut it.’”
This began Doleac’s successful partnership with Sony as a songwriter; allowing him to craft tracks for acts like Kane Brown, Darius Rucker, and Hootie and the Blowfish. In 2017, however, everything changed when he made his first solo EP drop. The lead track, Whiskey’s Fine, sold 35,000 copies as an independent single and became Sirius XM’s ‘Highway Find’, which skyrocketed Doleac in to the wider Country Music consciousness. He followed ‘Whiskey’s Fine’ with ‘Famous’, which spent two weeks at the top of Sirius XM’s country chart, and has now outperformed ‘Whiskey’s Fine’ by every metric. All of this has lead to tectonic surge in public enthusiasm for the firebrand. Enthusiasm that Doleac returns to his base five-fold. “The reason, the drive, the passion behind the millions of hours of work… It’s for the love of the fans.”
“For Adam, the sky’s the limit” (Hollywood Life), his latest drop Solo was described by Billboard as “mesmerizing,” he returned to his baseball roots by recording ‘Key to the City’ for the ESPN College World Series, and he shows no signs of slowing down. “My goal ultimately is to play stadiums and fill them suckers up,” Doleac states plainly. Go big or go home, indeed.

Jack Harlow reps Kentucky through and through. The 21-year-old Louisville, KY rhymer has a strong sense of pride for his home state, shown in the cover art for his new project Confetti; a close-up photo of himself wearing a “KY” chain. Clearly, this is what he’s about. “I think it’s a place that people are somewhat unfamiliar with,” he says. “But there’s a lot of culture here and I just want to put it on the map.”
On his new mixtape, Confetti, the follow-up to his widely-acclaimed breakthrough Loose, which was recently nominated for Best Mixtape at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards, he explains the main differences between 2018’s Loose and Confetti is his approach to recording and songwriting, promising to bring more introspection than on his previous effort. “I’m talking about women. I’m talking about my vices and just the way I feel at 21 years old,” he says. “It’s personal, but it is fun. I’m talking about my daily life, the things I’m seeing, the things I’m feeling.”
He is continuing to spotlight Kentucky talent with features from EST Gee and 2forwOyne, who is part of his Private Garden collective, a group of multi-faceted creatives originating from Louisville. Then there’s “THRU THE NIGHT” featuring fellow Louisville, KY native Bryson Tiller, a dream collaboration finally realized. “People wanted to hear that. I know it gives the city inspiration,” he says of the two linking up.
The song has a pitched-up sample of Usher’s “U Don’t Have to Call” that screams nostalgia while the music video was shot in a roller rink.
Influenced by artists like André 3000, Missy Elliott, Drake, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, and Black Eyed Peas, Harlow’s mission is to prove that Kentucky can create its own unified sound. Growing up, he wanted to become a rapper because he liked expressing himself with words. The bravado and confidence that emanates from rap songs encouraged him to make his own music. He started to rap at the age of 12, remixing songs and catching some hate from his middle school peers after sharing it on Facebook. “But I caught a lot of encouragement too. I got a lot of kids [saying] like, ‘You got talent,’” he remembers. Once he reached high school, Harlow focused on becoming a better MC and defining his sound, dropping remixes and singles online to build his fanbase.
2017’s Gazebo was Harlow’s breakout mixtape that explored themes of depression, vices, ex-flings, and finding yourself. Reflecting on the project, Harlow says Gazebo was “settling into who I was and what I wanted to be on the record,” executing an idea with 2forwOyne of making an album that felt like “Louisville at night.” His potential was proven on “DARK KNIGHT,” a two-minute lyrical onslaught over a booming beat. To date, the video has over 2.7 million views, blowing up after Harlow thought about shooting and dropping a visual on a whim after recording it. “It was definitely validating,” he says of the song going viral. “I still feel like I got a lot of work to do, but it was definitely, [like] ‘Shit is picking up now.’” He adds the success of “DARK KNIGHT” allowed him to go on his first tour, which is a big accomplishment in itself.
Now Harlow is looking to become the new face of Kentucky. In his corner are DJ Drama and Don Cannon, his two mentors who signed him to their label Generation Now. Harlow is excited to share his new music with fans because he had a fun time creating it. “Confetti was a great word for it,” he says of the title, telling fans to expect a party vibe. After its release, Harlow will hit the road for The Mission Tour starting Oct. 18 in Chicago, Illinois, stopping at his hometown of Louisville, KY on November 29th, and wrapping Dec. 1 in Nashville, Tennessee.
While he lists “ROTTEN,” “DENTYNE,” and “WARSAW” as some of his favorites off Confetti, he wants his fans to pay special attention to the album’s outro “RIVER ROAD.” “That song means a lot to me, I can’t wait ‘till people hear that. It’s my most honest work ever.”
Overall, he’s confident Confetti will go down as a certified classic. “I think it’s the best project that’s coming out this year,” he says. “I love it so much.”

.: CID [Bio] :.
A successful DJ who has gone on to become an in-demand producer, CID (aka Carlos Cid) was born in Queens, New York. He developed a passion for house and dance music at an early age; when he was 11, he was regularly hopping the bus to record stores where he could listen to the latest dance singles and chat with DJs who were stocking up on new material. CID was just 12 years old when he started DJ’ing himself, and as he matured, he developed an estimable reputation, spinning at major events in the New York area. In time, CID was performing across the country and in Europe as he began making inroads into producing and remixing. In 2012, CID earned a Grammy Award for his work on Cedric Gervais‘ remix of Lana Del Rey‘s “Summertime Sadness,” and the success of the track boosted his profile. Soon CID was collaborating with artists such as Kaskade, Sharam, and Tiësto, both in the studio and on-stage.

.: Rusko [Bio] :.
Rusko is a dubstep DJ/producer who is closely affiliated with Caspa, a fellow DJ/producer who is an influential figure within the dubstep community, not only as an artist but as the founder of several influential labels (i.e., Storming Productions, Dub Police, Sub Soldiers). The two sometimes perform as the duo Caspa & Rusko, including a DJ set at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival. As a solo artist, Rusko (born Chris Mercer and originally from Leeds, England) made his production debut in 2006 on Dub Police with SNES Dub and released a double 12″, Babylon, Vol. 1, on Sub Soldiers in 2007. For your health and safety, and the health and safety of our staff, this event has been rescheduled for October 21st. Fingers crossed things will be a little bit back to normal by then.
Well those went fast! Tickets for our Schitt’s Creek Trivia on Jan 15th and March 4th sold out over a month in advance so we’re doing another one in April! Plus this trivia will occur after the finale so ALL SEASONS will be included in the questions!
Choose a wig from the wig wall, get the Jazzagals together and head over to Cafe Tropical for Schitt’s Creek Trivia on the evening of April 15th at Guac y Margys.
Hopefully you’ll score better than David on M’Lady Magazine’s “How Electric Is Your Relationship?” quiz from Summer 1991, but either way it’ll be more fun than watching improv at Rose Apothecary’s Open Mic night!
Because our trivia nights have become a big night at GyM, we will be selling tickets moving forward to ensure everyone who comes gets a seat!
A ticket reserves your seat and gets you 2 tacos and 1 House Margarita!
