UPDATE: HB 520 did not pass the GA Senate as the session closed. However, there are 25 or so more bills scheduled to pass and the question is - did its language get pushed into other bills at the last minute? The Georgia Record will let you know as the information is released.
The real question is - why is there no trust the Republican-controlled Georgia government - the executive or legislative branch?
Why do citizens have to be worried about last minute changes in the first place? Why is there no transparency and why aren't bills posted with plenty of time for the public to comment and for debate in the chamber? We saw this with the green new deal bill that DID pass; HB 145 started out as a 'leaf blower' bill and turned into 40 pages of something only AOC could love.
What happened Burt? We liked the old Burt Jones better. You know, the good ole' boy who took care of his voters, and listened to their wishes.

Literally thousands of GA voters have made their views known at the capitol over the last few weeks - telling all of the GA legislature that HB 520 was evil, no matter the language crafted, and needed to be tabled.
The Georgia Record has accurately made public that the sponsor of the bill - Todd Jones - has a financial interest in the bill passing, to the detriment of GA citizens. He holds a financial stake in the medical monitoring device company Talitrix, as do others in the GA legislature.
What happened Burt? Did you take a check? Did you get some stock? Did you get a call from the evil emperor George Soros himself? Was your family threatened?
Enquiring minds want to know.
