Former President Barack Obama is heading back to Georgia for U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock’s campaign for a December 1 rally in Atlanta before the December 6 Georgia Senate runoff between Warnock and Hershel Walker, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Obama’s mantra during his 2022 stump speeches for democrats emphasized the threat to democracy.
Obama campaigned for Warnock in late October before the mid-term elections, telling Georgians that “democracy is not self executing” and reminding them that “it depends on us working, nurturing, caring for it, not just on Election Day, but every day in between.”
Although Obama’s support has been highest with black Democrats while he was in office and afterward, 2022 mid-term elections exit polls shifted for democrats with black and hispanic voters.
Republicans made massive inroads with young black and hispanic voters. Young hispanic voters shifted 18% toward Republicans and young black voters shifted 22% toward Republicans, according to the AP exit poll.
Inflation and economy was near the top of voters’ minds.
The runoff is a result of both Warnock and Walker not reaching the Georgia state required threshold of 50%.
When the results were fully contounted, Warnock received 49.4% to Walker’s 48.5%, with 2.1% going to Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver.
Democrats have outspent Republicans 3 to 1 in the early stages of campaigning ahead of the runoff election.
Ads are non-stop across Georgia television markets.
Thematically, Warnock’s ads have been on character, while Walker’s highlight transgender athletes playing women’s sports.
FK both of those grifting ggers.
Could he just do like other presidents and disappear?
His smug arrogance is irritating.
You can go away too.
