Tonight, California Governor, Gavin Newsom and Florida Governor and republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis, will face off in a special debate hosted here in Atlanta by Sean Hannity.
This is especially true given DeSantis’s consistently declining poll numbers. Virtually everything he's participated in has led to lower and lower support in the polls.
Following the Iowa State fair many labelled DeSantis the “eggman” for spending time serving eggs to state fair patrons while President Trump spoke and waved to shouts and applause from hundreds outside the venues. Is DeSantis being sent it to be a punching bag for Newsom? We’ll soon see.
Some are asking if the event been crafted to provide an exit point for DeSantis should he be shown to ineffective in in debating Newsome.
At the same time Nikki Haley has announced funding support from Americans for Prosperity including the remaining Koch brother.
If tonight's event is about giving DeSantis an out, is it also about giving Nikki Haley an in? That remains to be seen but it is certain that Haley’s track record and true background will receive renewed scrutiny should she attempt to escalate her possession in the republican primary process.
