Thompson: “…..the first thing you’ve got to remember is don’t take shit from anybody…..”

Jason Thompson, candidate for Georgia Republican Committeeman spoke and answered (some) questions at the GRA Endorsements meeting held this past weekend.    

Attendees at the meeting also included Josh McKoon, Brant Frost, Alex Johnson and others.

Of particular note was a question asked by a gentleman about the “appearance of a conflict” regarding Thompson’s wife, Julianne Thompson. (Julianne Thompson is documented working for and receiving compensation from the Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office over the past 4 years.)     

Rather than address this man’s question, Thompson launched into a rant against that fact that the question was even asked.  His comments can be seen below and include:  “…..the first thing you’ve got to remember is don’t take shit from anybody…..”

Given his reaction we wondered what might spark such outrage in Mr. Thompson.   Here are some facts:

Thompson’s wife, Julianne Thompson acts as a political consultant and claims to be supporting the Republican party and Republican ideals.

She appears to act alternatively as a contractor, an employee and as part of a firm known as Main Street Network Strategies, a firm which lists her and BJ Van Gundy as principals.

According to publically available reports, in the years beginning with 2020 and through reporting for 2023 she has received over $228,000 in a combination of salary, and contract payments through Raffensperger's office:

Some have called attention to her above-stated role as a "clerical worker" for Brad Raffenspergers office in 2023.

Raffensperger, has continued his claims of “cleanest voter rolls” despite evidence to the contrary, while the State Election Board has appeared to stall complaints and questions surrounding erroneous data and reports put out by Raffensperger's office. Given these, it would seem only natural that citizens would have serious questions regarding anyone (including Julianne Thompson) who would choose to work in such an environment and support Brad Raffensperger.  

Georgians have heard little and seen even less from Jason Thompson regarding election integrity.

Many have asked what happened to the $350 million for election integrity that the RNC claimed to have raised following the 2020 election? What did our Republican Committeeman Jason Thompson do and how much did Georgia receive? Anything?

Just today, the State Election Board held a meeting to review and consider action on a number of complaints.  Thompson’s current opponents for the position of Republican Committeeman, David Cross and Jason Frazier, both attended today's SEB meeting and spoke to the issues and the vital need for change. Jason Thompson did not attend.

Maybe one of the things irking Jason Thompson is that he is up against two competitors who have both been working publicly to address Georgia's election integrity issues for over two years.   

Perhaps he wishes he had been more involved in pursuing the work needed in this area.
