On Monday evening, Jan. 20, 2014 Tiffany Amber Davenport, 17, the daughter of newly elected Johns Creek Council member Cori Davenport, was stopped by Johns Creek Police for driving nearly 70 mph down State Bridge Road - and found marijuana in the vehicle.
She was stopped shortly after 9 p.m. When Davenport rolled down the window of the 2014 black Mercedes she was driving, Officer Koorey, who had made the stop, noticed the distinct smell of marijuana. He asked Davenport and her passenger if there was any marijuana in the car but she denied that there was any inside.
In his report Officer Koorey said that he advised Davenport and her passenger that the vehicle was going to be searched and "gave them a final opportunity to be honest ... They looked at each other as if trying to decide what to do. Davenport then stated that there was a little bit of marijuana inside the car..."
