    I voted for a Republican for President this election for the first time since 1988.

    I came down with a case of Trump Derangement Syndrome during his 2016 campaign. After thirty years voting only for Democrats, I drunk the Kool-aide. Democrats were good, Republicans were bad, and that was that.

    They say Trump reminds some women of their first husband’s divorce lawyer, and as a recovering divorce lawyer I don’t like those people either.

    Biden-Harris promised a return to “normal,” a promise of ethical governance, a promise of grace towards all. They lied.

    Biden-Harris, instead, governed from the far left:

    Causing an invasion of illegal aliens;

    Historic high food prices;

    Infecting the whole of government with racist DEI policies;

    Pushing radical transgendered ideology on children and reluctant parents;

    Forcing working-class taxpayers to pay off others’ college loans;

    International instability and war as far as the eye can see; and

    All while gleefully spending higher and higher amounts of nonexistent money.

    Biden-Harris slurred Americans who disagree with them as “Jim Crowe 2.0 racist” and “garbage.”

    Distain for white-Christian-workingclass-Southern-Chick-fil-A eating type of Americans permeates Democrat programs and thinking.

    This is not what Biden-Harris promised in 2020.

    “Trump is crazy” compared to what?

    My Trump Derangement Syndrome is over.

    I have Georgia family and friends from Valdosta to Blue Ridge. Here’s what some of them are saying about the American people returning Trump to power:

    Spalding County: “I hope Democrats got the message from these results that this crazy stuff does not resonate with most of the country. We don’t care what Oprah Winfrey thinks,” says a cousin (retired educator);

    Baldwin County: “We need to find common ground and common sense again and use it,” says a cousin (educator);

    Fulton County: “Those who accused Trump of not accepting election results, are you gracefully accepting and respecting the will of your fellow citizens? Here’s to all the people with different opinions and we’re still friends because we’re all adults,” said a friend (retired Army officer);

    Houston County: “[Trump] is pretty narcissistic and borders on bullying a bunch of times, but he’ll clean the trash up,” says a cousin (retired hospital administration);

    Cobb County: “I am beyond proud that common sense, moderation, and the Big Tent Party (Republicans) won. I pray for unity, peace, and more prosperous days ahead,” said a friend (accountant);

    Dekalb County: “This will be so good for the country, my brother almost cried he was so happy,” said a Russian immigrant and business owner friend of my niece;

    Butts County: “Drill baby drill and bring my groceries back down,” said a brother-in-law (manufacturing manager);

    Pike County: “The election shows that people are OVER this woke furry they/them [stuff],” says a niece (a senior care administrator);

    Fannin County: “I look forward to having beautiful Melania Trump as our First Lady again,” said a friend (business finance);

    Gwinnet County: “All my Atlanta friends suffering from apoplexy over Trump’s win. I have never seen such drama expressed by any Republican friend when we have lost elections,” says a friend (lawyer);

    Pike County: “Prosperity is back, God still shows America good favor,” says a nephew (business manager); and

    Henry County: “Please take a moment to thank Jesus for his mercy and don’t stop praying! Trump needs as many as he can get,” says my sister (certified diamondtologist).

    I also have two other nieces, each a wonderful mother of young children. One in Monroe County (dental assistant) and another in Forsyth County (hairdresser), both in their “late twenties.”

    They voted for the first time in this election. For Trump.

    For those troubled Democrat souls fretting about Trump and convinced of their intellectual and moral superiority to the rest of us, hopefully these testimonials will help.

    Do not be afraid to listen to other viewpoints. We don’t bite.

    Trump Derangement Syndrome is an unhealthy lifestyle choice.
