Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,
Medlock Bridge COJC Candidate Debate Series at Groomsbridge Clubhouse.
We have scheduled and confirmed 4 Total Debates. Mayor, Post 1, & 3 are as expected. Post 2 & 5 the opponents declined to participate. We have 11 people who are running for 5 positions on City Council.
Tuesday September 28, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Groomsbridge Clubhouse a Debate for the Mayor candidates John Bradberry and Brian Weaver
Tuesday October5, 2021 from 6:30pmo 8:30pm in the Groomsbridge Clubhouse a Debate for Post 2 & Post 5 candidates Stacy Skinner and Larry Dibiase (both opponents declined to participate in separate Debates)
Tuesday October 12, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Groomsbridge Clubhouse a Debate for Post 3 candidates Bob Erramilli, Cassandra LittleJohn and Anthony Shorter
Thursday October 14, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Groomsbridge Clubhouse a Debate for Post 1 candidates Lee Heard Tucker and Dilip Tunki
We invited all 11 candidates to participate and only 9 agreed to enable the registered voting public to be able to make informed decision for this election. The format will be slightly different with COVID-19 still being a concern.
We ask the residents who want to come in person to consider wearing a mask, we will have less seats than in the past as we position seating more spread out. All Debates will be on video, so please don't feel you must attend if this makes you uncomfortable.
You can submit questions for the candidate debates via email to:[email protected]
Arrive early so we can start on time, this year the City of Johns Creek has 4 Total Post open, plus the Mayor position out of 7 positions up for election.
If you attend in person you can submit a written question to be asked that evening. With two candidates in a Debate we hope to maybe get to 23 to 25 questions in total. With three candidates it may only be 17 questions.
The format is each candidate has a 5 min introduction of who they are, where they are from and what their vision is for Johns Creek going forward.
The questions from the voting public each candidate has 2 min to answer. We have found in the past we will have many more questions than time will allow for one evening.
Each candidate will be supplied with all the questions that haven't been asked, so they can answer via email. The questions and answers will be posted assuming we get answers later on.
The series is all about having the registered Johns Creek voters gathering enough information to make an informed decision for the November election.
Only two candidates are probably known by many since they were both on City Council and now running for Mayor.
The other 9 candidates are new to this process and the voting public, we hope this will be a valuable tool for all the voters in John Creek. We are very fortunate that 11 people made the decision to run for public office to represent the citizens of Johns Creek.
Unfortunately we will only have 9 total candidates participating, but from past experience this format has been an excellent tool for registered voters to make an informed decision as to who deserves to run our local government.
Please put these dates on your calendar if you plan on attending.
