The Georgia legislature is completing its redistricting of GA state legislative districts. Johns Creek is largely unaffected in the GA House with some southern JC areas being cut off and some precincts added to the north. Overall, the district remains in blue control and about one-third Asian, says the current GA State Representative Angelika Kausche, a Democrat.

In GA Senate District 48, the redistricting changes the jurisdiction from majority blue to much more conservative, adding territory from North Atlanta counties. This angered current GA Senator Michelle Au.

The redistricting process after the U.S. Constitutionally-mandated census every ten years give political parties in power the chance to tilt the playing field to their side.

The Democratic Party has been ruthless nation-wide in this process.

The fact that Republicans are taking advantage of this opportunity to add seats is not surprising, in fact it's expected.

Many GOP members state-wide are concerned the GOP did not go far enough in its historicaly 'go along, get along, good ole' boy' mentality which has led to the GOP winning elections for decades, but losing the country.

The Georgia Record was relaunched in June of 2021 and has been extremely successful fighting corruption in the state named after King George of England. The original paper was started in 1899 and published into the early 20th century. In 2020, CDM (Creative Destruction Media) acquired Johns Creek Post and brought back The Georgia Record to better represent the state rather than just Johns Creek News.
